As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
It is so amazing to have godly friends. The good thing about having fellow believers in your circle of friends is the mighty gift of prayer. God is moving in mighty ways right now - in this day in age. Praise God that He is unchanging. The God we serve is the same God that brought the Israelites out of Egypt, that brought the mighty walls of Jericho down by a mere shout of praise, and that conquered armies attacking Jeoshaphat through praise. My sisters, do not be deceived by the power of prayer and praise - these are mighty weapons of God.
We walk in a time that we can easily be discouraged. We live in a nation that murders innocent babies by the millions. We live in a society in which lawlessness abound, where they call good evil and evil good. We live in a time, when we are easily distracted by the chaos in our own lives. So, why don't we go to our friends for prayer? God is so Faithful, it says so right here in this passage, "But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." So, if God is faithful to strengthen us and protect us from the evil one, why is it that we so easily trampled by the enemy? God is bigger and greater than the enemy. 1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
So, I encourage you today, if you are going through a rough time, call out for prayer. You don't have to give all of the details. God knows exactly what you are going through - there is something powerful, when we gather in agreement in prayer. Just this week, I had sleepless nights, where fear overcame my body. I asked my husband to pray for me. We prayed and prayed all night long, and you know what - God showed up in a powerful way! God has a way of coming through. My prayer for you today is the last of this passage, "May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance."
