God's Glory

2 Corinthians 3:7-18
Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts! Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

There is nothing greater than immersing yourself in the Lord’s presence!!! He is one amazing God, and there is such sweetness in His presence. I love how this scripture references Moses’ experience with God. I would love to experience God like Moses, after all it was Moses that Got to see the Lord simply by asking to see the Lord’s Glory.

Exodus 33:18-23
Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory." And the Lord said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But," he said, "You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live." Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen."

Exodus 34:30-35
When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them. Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the Lord had given him on Mount Sinai. When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face. But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.

Can you see the radiance of your face once you've been with the Lord? I love what Corinthians has to say about this - we should have even greater glory, because our ministry is that of righteousness rather than condemnation. Have you asked God recently to show you His Glory? Just like Moses? I want to be in the Lord's Presence. I want to see His Glory, so that it shines through me. After all, we are to be the light of the World. How can we be the light of the World, if we don’t spend our time with God, to get His light to shine through us?

Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

How are we able to show the world the glory of God, when Moses had to hide his face? We do not have to hide our face through the veil, because the veil was torn when Jesus gave His life for us:

Matthew 27:55:51
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

. It is at that moment, I believe the lies of the enemy, and I no longer feel protected. Let us live in God's presence. Let it become our lifestyle, that we cannot go anywhere without recognizing the Lord's presence. I challenge you today, to ask God to show you His Glory. Climb up in His lap; allow Him to wrap His loving arms around you. Can you feel His hand upon your cheek? He wants you to know just how much He loves you. There is nothing greater than being in the presence of the Lord. For when we are in His presence, we can see the power of God's love.
